10th Annual Land on the Horizon
Date:  September 21, 2013 - 7p.m. to 10 p.m.
Location:  Lakeland Golf and Country Club, 8760 Chilson Rd., Brighton, MI
We will be hosting our 10th annual fundraiser, the cost is $60 per person.  Land on the Horizon has been an important event for raising needed monies for the protection of land in Livingston County.  Besides that, it is a really fun and entertaining evening!  There will be delicious food and beverages, plus a cash bar.  Enjoy live music by pianist Ed Rutkowski, silent and live auctions, and a raffle for a new television.  Auction items range from framed artwork, tickets to sporting events, gift certificates, bird feeders, wine, gift baskets galore, and golf outings plus much more.
Annual Meeting & Preserve Hike  
Date: June 24, 2013 - 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm - Free!
Location: Brighton District Library, 100 Library Drive, Brighton
Enjoy a light dinner and an informal meeting with the officers of the Board of Directors as well have an opportunity to take a walking tour of the Charles & Albert Parker Families Nature Preserve adjacent to the Library.  A canopy will be set up on the grounds of the library with food and beverages for this informational gathering. Dinner and tours start at 6:30 pm outside the library; meeting and presentation inside at 7:30 pm.

Date:  May 5, 2013 - 8:00 am - $65.00
Location: The Majestic Golf Course, 9600 Crouse Road, Hartland

A Year Later:  After the Burn
Date: Saturday, May 18, 2013 - 1:00 pm - free
Location: Arthur M. Pasinski Memorial Preserve - Howell (Bigelow Rd., west of Latson Rd.)
We’ll see how the burned area of the preserve is doing one year later and look for species such as the Yellow Ladyslipper, Marsh Marigold, and Trillium.  Hopefully we’ll see migrating songbirds coming through the area as well.  Park at the entrance to Hutchings Elementary School off of Bigelow Road.  Dress for the weather.  Will be cancelled if it rains.
